Celebrating College Successes
At the close of a school year much different than we could have anticipated, hundreds of YPIE Seniors committed to college - most are students of color who will be the first in their families to attend college. Hear from a few graduating YPIE seniors in this video.
Calling for Justice
Since our world went into lockdown in March, YPIE students have been amplifying their voices through the YPIE QuaranTimes, a publication dedicated to share students’ perspectives and insights. Hear their powerful words and wisdom that best capture the uncertainties of a world in lockdown with the inequities of systemic racism.
Moving Forward This Summer
To address lost time and stay engaged in meaningful activities, YPIE students aren’t wasting a minute this summer. They are working with YPIE staff and volunteers to make most of the summer to prepare for the fall.
Incoming college students: transitioning from high school, navigating uncertainty about college openings, creating a plan B for the fall
Rising 12th graders: working on college essays, creating college lists, visiting schools online, diving into the college application process
Rising 10th, 11th, 12th graders: preparing academically for the fall and engaging in meaningful career-focused “majors” in science research, film, architecture, journalism, and more!
YPIE students are inspiring during “normal” times with their ability to overcome so many adversities; to see how they have responded to the world over the last few months has been nothing short of awe-some.
With the help of dedicated volunteers and the entire YPIE community, YPIE students will pursue their academic dreams and share their talents with the world.
