Following many years of volunteering as a YPIE essay coach, Susan joined the staff in 2024 as YPIE’s first Manager of Grants. In this role, she works to access foundation and corporate grants that align with YPIE’s mission to partner with students in under-resourced school districts to prepare for, enroll in, and graduate from college and enable the organization to grow.

Susan brings years of experience writing grants, speeches, and marketing materials in the social impact space as well as news and features journalism and writing coaching. She believes passionately in addressing societal challenges through strategic partnerships of stakeholders.

Susan holds a bachelor’s degree from Vassar College and an MBA from Columbia University. She loves reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling with her family.
