Shaina joined YPIE in August 2022 as the new College Advisor at Yonkers Montessori Academy and the Barack Obama School for Social Justice. Prior to joining YPIE, Shaina spent the last decade working as an educator for the Department of Education. Her time as an educator has taught her how essential it is to guide students in all aspects of their academic career.

Shaina attended CUNY Lehman College, where she received a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. Through her experience, Shaina has learned the importance of a strong foundation and how that can positively impact students’ lives and maximize their success. As a first-generation American and college graduate, Shaina’s goal is to provide her students with the tools, resources, and assistance necessary to help students enroll in college.

When Shaina is not working with her students, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and showing her the world.
