Sandra joined YPIE in 2026 as Senior Director of Jersey City, bringing more than 20 years of experience leading nonprofit and education initiatives that expand opportunity for young people.

She began her career with Teach For America before becoming a first grade teacher in Newark. She later held leadership roles at iMentor, Children's Literacy Initiative, and Room to Grow, where she led programs, built community partnerships, and secured philanthropic support to expand impact.

As a first generation college graduate and the daughter of immigrants, Sandra is committed to helping young people realize their highest aspirations.

Sandra leads YPIE's work across Jersey City's partner schools, building partnerships with educators, community organizations, donors, volunteers, and civic leaders to strengthen college and career pathways.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her family, discovering great local coffee shops, and exploring new cities through their food and history.
