Jennifer joined YPIE in 2024 as the Site Director for YPIE Nashville, bringing extensive experience in science education, research, and community-based learning. She is focused on building YPIE’s presence in Nashville and creating opportunities for students to engage in authentic scientific research.

Jennifer began her career as a molecular biologist, earning her Ph.D. and conducting postdoctoral research in immunology and neuroscience at Vanderbilt and Harvard Universities. She later transitioned to science education, working in science outreach at Vanderbilt University to support middle and high school students and teachers in developing hands-on, inquiry-based science experiences.

Jennifer is passionate about fostering curiosity and critical thinking in students through real-world research experiences. She enjoys hiking, gardening, and playing games of all kinds with her family.
