Emily joined YPIE in 2022 with 10+ years of experience as a teacher and school leader. She is currently Senior Director of Academic Readiness, focusing on YPIE’s efforts to prepare Yonkers students to thrive in college.

Emily began her career devising original musicals with middle and high school students at the Play Group Theater in White Plains. She spent several years teaching high school English and special education in NYC, helping students with a variety of language-based learning disabilities develop the skills and strategies necessary for high school and college success. Most recently, Emily served as YPIE’s Development and Communications Manager.

Born and raised in Westchester, Emily graduated from Tufts University and got her Masters in Educational Theatre and English Education from NYU Steinhardt. She enjoys reading fiction and seeing live theater when she can, but she spends most of her spare time exploring local playgrounds with her husband and two children, Nate and Zoe.
