Emily joined YPIE in 2022, with more than a decade of experience as a teacher and school leader. She began her career devising original musicals with middle and high school students at the Play Group Theater in White Plains.

After graduating from Tufts University, Emily earned her Master’s degree in Educational Theatre and English Education from NYU Steinhardt.

As a high school English and theater teacher in Manhattan, Emily focused on supporting students with a range of language-based learning disabilities, helping them develop the skills and strategies needed for success in high school and college.

In 2023, Emily became YPIE’s Senior Director of Academic Readiness, leading YPIE Yonkers’ efforts to prepare students to thrive in college. She now serves as Chief Program Officer, working closely with program leadership to ensure student success across YPIE’s sites and programs.Emily enjoys reading fiction, seeing theater, and exploring local playgrounds with her two children.
