Ronald McDonald House Awards $17,500 to Yonkers Partners in Education

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the New York Tri-State Area (RMHC-NYTSA) recently awarded $17,500 to Yonkers Partners in Education. This grant benefits students of the Yonkers Public School System by supporting the Yonkers Partners in Education SAT Prep Program. The program enables over 300 low-income students to attend a twelve session SAT Prep course given by Kaplan Test Prep, an industry leader in helping students to prepare for standardized tests.

Funding from the RMHC-NYTSA will support 50 students, preparing them for the upcoming SAT tests in May, 2008.

“We are so excited about the worthwhile programs that we are able to fund this year,” said Gerald McCoy, RMHC President of the New York Tri-State Area. “It’s wonderful to partner with not-for-profit organizations working to better the community and to support programs that benefit children.

“We are thrilled to have Ronald McDonald House Charities as our partner in this endeavor. For the students who go through this program, we expect that it will provide the edge needed for them to attend the college of their dreams,” said Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE), Executive Director, Wendy Nadel.

YPIE is an education fund that works in partnership with the Yonkers Board of Education to insure that all students attending public school in Yonkers receive a high quality education that prepares them for work, college and success in life.
