Yonkers Partners in Education is bursting with news - and it's only April! Already in 2010, we have opened a new College Center, been honored with two community awards, launched a new Latino family outreach initiative, participated in a worldwide literacy event, and received funding from several large foundations.
We are excited to share our progress with you and look forward to an exciting spring in Yonkers.

YPIE Receives Two Community Awards
YPIE Board Member Olga Luz Tirado and YPIE Executive Director Wendy Nadel receive the award from LATYN's President Julia Mitchell |
The greatest affirmation of the impact of our work is recognition from the Yonkers community. This spring, YPIE will receive two awards:
- The Ganza Award from LATYN, a organization of Latino administrators, teachers, and CSEA members, for the important work we are doing in the Latino community.
- A community service award from HRCA, the Hudson River Community Association.
We share these two awards with our many partners and volunteers in the Yonkers community, without whom our programs would not exist.
