YPIE Receives Two Community Awards

The greatest affirmation of the impact of our work is recognition from the Yonkers community. This spring YPIE is receiving two awards:

  • The Ganza Award from LATYN, a organization of Latino administrators, teachers, and CSEA members, for the important work we are doing in the Latino community.

  • A community service award from HRCA, the Hudson River Community Association. For 30 years, HRCA members from the Yonkers community have come together to address problems relating to their neighborhoods. The condition of housing, crime and drugs, police protection, sanitation, vacant businesses, beautification and the need for community services are some of their primary concerns.

YPIE shares these two awards with our many partners and volunteers in the Yonkers community, without whom our programs would not exist.
