Improving Access to College Planning
More 
than 7,000 Yonkers high school students now have access to the same college planning tools as their peers in surrounding high wealth districts thanks to the continued support of the JP Morgan Chase Foundation. Students and educators will be using Naviance software, the gold standard in post secondary planning and advising systems.
Naviance, which can be used by all 9th-12th grade students throughout the district, is a one stop shop for college planning that begins with a checklist of milestones that need to be met for college admission, and culminates with application and financial aid processing. It is designed to make the college process less intimidating and easier to navigate by students, parents and guidance counselors.
According to Executive Director, Wendy Nadel, "we are thrilled to add Naviance to our expanding menu of college access services. It thoroughly supports the school district’s commitment to strengthening the college going culture."
YPIE's College Access Initiative
The Yonkers Partners in Education College Access Initiative augments Yonkers Public Schools pre-collegiate programs with on-site College Centers, SAT Prep, and the collaborative, interactive tools of Naviance software.
YPIE's goal is to even the playing field for Yonkers students by providing private sector support to improve college acceptance and college going -- two important steps towards a successful life.
