College Bus Trips

YPIE is working with the Yonkers Public School District and the Gateway Academy to organize trips to college campuses for the purpose of exposing  students and their parents to a variety of college options. Students in grades 9 through 12 can sign up for trips to visit a variety of schools. Approximately 40 students attend each trip, accompanied by four chaperones.

The choice of schools visited is driven by student request and includes colleges and universities to which students are applying as well as "reach" schools. Each tour includes an information session and question and answer period with admissions staff, a tour of the campus, and lunch in a dining hall. Athletes are able to meet with representatives from the athletic office.  In some cases, on-site acceptances are offered to students during their visit.
