College Access

Yonkers Partners in Education’s College Access Initiative supports low-income Yonkers public school students by providing access to programs that enhance college acceptance. YPIE’s programs augment school district initiatives that foster a college-going culture among students and their families, and support high school guidance programs with a variety of college-bound resources.

The need for a college access initiative is clear. In preparing for college acceptance, low-income students in urban centers often lack the resources available to more affluent students. This can dramatically affect students’ acceptance to competitive colleges and their capacity to succeed in college.

Yonkers Partners in Education’s goal is to even the playing field for Yonkers students by providing private sector support to improve college acceptance and, ultimately, to help students obtain the job of their dreams.
